What led you to consider a career in consulting?

I felt that I had gained extensive experience in various fields and industries, giving me valuable insights to offer a wide range of organisations. I also wanted to share my knowledge and learn from other like-minded, skilled professionals, and consulting provides an excellent opportunity to achieve this.

Can you share a moment at Escient that really made you feel proud to be part of this team?

To me, what stands out is the way we are supported as whole human beings, not just as employees. Escient excels in its work and achieves outstanding outcomes across various worthwhile industries and sectors. The company truly embodies the shared values of Creativity, Selflessness, and Courage for both clients and staff.

How has Escient supported your professional growth in unexpected ways?

Escient provides a generous development budget each year and I’ve been given the opportunity to put mine towards some 1:1 executive coaching. This has inspired me to challenge some professional and personal thought patterns and enabled me to move forward in some interesting ways. This kind of support to explore and discover what development activities work for me personally has never been offered like this anywhere else I’ve worked.

Looking at your time here, what’s one piece of advice you’d pass on to a new starter?

That it’s ok and normal to feel out of your depth, overwhelmed and like you don’t belong sometimes. But reach out to colleagues for support because you can guarantee you’re not alone!

How would you sum up your experience of working at Escient in 3 words?

Rich. Connecting. Growth.
