What led you to a career in consulting?
Consulting is a profession where you are exposed to a wide range of projects, personalities and problems. As such, you are constantly learning how to adapt across multiple factors. This idea of specialising in adapting is one that resonates with my character, and I believe important for the future given the ever-changing landscape of the world. Consulting thus became an especially alluring career and one that I knew I could learn a lot from.
Can you share a moment at Escient that made you feel proud to be part of the team?
One may think joining a new company, to start a different profession, in a country that you have never worked in before would be extremely daunting, but this was not the case.
Even whilst I was 12000km away, Escient’s culture, support and core principals shone through. From the first conversation, I felt acknowledged, respected but also spurred in both my personal capacity and in the contribution I might bring to the company.
This was one of my first memories of Escient and looking at my journey to date I feel extremely proud of being part of a community that prioritises its people whilst living by their core principles.
What’s the culture like in Escient’s Brisbane office?
The Brisbane office is determined fun.
Determined – There is a drive to succeed individually and for our clients which is only second to our unwavering commitment to do so with integrity.
Fun – People are a priority, but it is far deeper than just a concern for each other’s well-being. It is an authentic appreciation and acknowledgement of its core which subsequently results in happiness.
How would you sum up your experience of working at Escient in 3 words?
Competitive. Compassionate. Community.
Escient-ers have a drive to be better, but do so with respect, care and the support of like-minded individuals.
